Last Thursday I heard some rather annoying (but typical) news. An old friend of mine seemed to have ran into one of our former guitar players whose been rather adamant and open about his hostilities towards me. My friend apparently went to audition for a band that our former guitarist was trying to assemble - aptly titled, in spite of course: "The Nightmare".
Now, I realize that if anyone looked hard enough one could probably find several different bands with this name or a variation of it. I see our band having a distinction with the tag 'Zadoc' in the forefront; at the same time I can honestly say that I'm not overtly attached to 'The Nightmare' tagline to battle it out legally if challenged.
The point of this post though is to explain to you the extent of childishness (not to mention lack of originality) that plagues us from our old cohort. Also I don't want to see any of our fans or friends duped into thinking that this ripoff artist calling himself 'The Nightmare' is anywhat remotely connected to 'Zadoc...and the Nightmare' aside from the fact that he once played guitar for this band a few years ago.
The most hilarious part of this drama is the hypocrisy that is our former guitar player. Time and again this individual has claimed that I, myself, am incapable of an original idea alongside of calling me a liar, a plagiarist, and an egotist all the while proving that it is indeed he himself that is more worthy of those titles and accusations.
Although our friendship is long gone, as is my respect for this individual, I still have always wished him well due to his talents and what I had once percieved as his having some originality.
While this person is perfectly capable of creating incredible music and being original, he rather chooses to opt for a childish game of 'revenge' in lieu of doing something completely fresh and new.
However, with his social ineptitude, I don't think we'll probably have much to worry about seeing as I doubt he'll manage to keep a solid band together long enough to actually attempt playing out under the moniker of "The Nightmare". On the offchance that I'm wrong, don't be fooled by imposters - in Syracuse, NY there is only one Nightmare, and it consists of Zadoc, Az, SINdy, and Carmen.

dude how can you call us a rip off artist? its a name. We make it clear you are no way involved with this project. and who was the dude that tried out for us, do you have a name? DUDE!! What about Nick Fuko(sp)?? as for the band staying together, we have had the same lineup for a while now and are getting along with Monster fine, so any problum you had with him must have been because of you.

Easily. If say perhaps a band such as "Siouxie and the Banshees" breaks up, and one guitarist goes off and creates a band called "The Banshees" which is totally unrelated, and in the same area and genre, I'd easily say that it could be 'mistaken' for the artist in question. It's a rather lame swipe in my opinion when another name could be easily thought of with using a bit of originality, if possible. I would think considering how much you'd want to "distance yourselves" from me, that you would rather choose something as far away from our band's name as possible. Really? How so? The fact that my former guitarist has left several messages on my answering machine (which I still have, if you'd like me to put them up on the website to listen to) asking me to sing for your band sort of makes me question that statement. I'm really not sure he'd like to be named publically, but if you think I'm bluffing you, his initials are P.A. I think you can figure it out from there. What does "Cold Ethyl" have to do with anything? Also, for your information, it is spelled "Fuocco". Edit: Also, Nick has not lived in Syracuse for quite a few years. Last I heard he was in California, and occasionally staying near Binghamton. Good to hear after a two year span of time. Best of luck to you all, no sarcasm intended. Despite my differences with Monster, I wish him well. He is still a talented guitarist despite the fact that we cannot get along. Pardon me while I get through an insane laughing fit. First off, I lost many musicians in this band who have stated to me that the reason they left this project was due to an unwillingness to work with Monster. Secondly, I had nothing to do with his 'problem' with my former keyboardist, who he harassed and proceeded to spit on months later. I have made no effort to contact him for well over a year, and have even made it very clear that his constant phone calls, e-mails, and forum posts are unwelcomed. If you are really naive and stupid enough to even insinuate that the problems he caused within this band are because of my actions, I have a bridge in Manhattan I'd like to sell you. Seriously, I do wish you good luck in your band with Monster. He is a talented musician and could go far if he lost a bit of the attitude that has burned the bridges he's burned with other musicians (including myself) within the CNY area. The only thing I have ever asked of him and spoken to him about since his departure from this band over two years ago was to just simply leave me alone. That is one request he fails to honor.

Just a quick observation...does anyone else find this odd that an argument has erupted from a post I made over six months ago?

Hey Z,
A little info. as to why Nick Fuocco was mentioned.
He became the singer of an Alice Cooper tribute act in California called "The Nightmare".
That was why he was brought into this. I believe he still sings for "The Nightmare". Nick always made a good Alice. I miss Cold Ethyl.
One of the reasons why my Alice project never took off. I knew I could never do Alice justice like Nick does.
Sounds like Monster has a couple of kids in his band that don't know any better. Just keep rockin' and not worry about it.

Hey Z, A little info. as to why Nick Fuocco was mentioned. He became the singer of an Alice Cooper tribute act in California called "The Nightmare". It doesn't surprise me to hear about an Alice tribute band called "The Nightmare". Infact our green friend brought it up once or twice in his diatribes as well. Edit: for correctness sake, the name of Nick's band is/was just "Nightmare", they had a website up, but it's apparently gone now. You can still view some of it via a Google cached page for now. They were from C.A. but did play Nickstock last year...however according to the Nickstock website, it looks like Cold Ethyl is still out there. However, the response Mr. ToxXin gave was in regards to a statement referring to bands in Syracuse. To my knowlege there aren't any other bands in Syracuse using that name...which is where the confusion would lie - especially with a former bandmate attempting to play out with the same name (sans the Zadoc surname...I'd hope) in the same area. However, good to hear a bit more about Nick's current happenings. I saw him about a year ago do the Cold Ethyl tribute opening for the all female Iron Maidens. :-) Nick did have the look and sound for that gig. Personally, I have nothing but respect for Nick. He was very good to us back in the day and always treated us well when we played at the Wolf's Inn. If Nick were to relocate his "Nightmare" to Syracuse, I'd graciously change our band's name to avoid any possible confusion. Like I said in the original post, I'm not too worried about Monster's new band getting off the ground anytime soon. If I'm proven wrong and he does decide to bill himself as "The Nightmare" we'll deal with things then. Who knows....by that point we may have already changed our name anyways.

Dude yes I am 19 but a kid I am not, what do you mean "Monster has a couple kids in his band that don't Know any better", meaning what? As for P.A I know who you are talking about Zadoc, he never really tried out for us, he asked us and we let him fill in one night when our old vocalist at the time was sick and could not make it, so if he is saying that he tried out he is wronge, I am or I thought I was good friends with P.A.

I didnt even know your band had a website till yesterday. Then somebody posted using your name back in June with your same email address on our website that you didn't know about. The post is here: pub12.bravenet.com/forum/955511795/fetch/300225/

I didnt even know your band had a website till yesterday. Not too smart to b.s. about something that can easily be proven false. You made a post in our old forum back in June, which you can see here. I don't think you can try to claim that 'someone else' filled in your exact same e-mail address that you're using here as both posts were made from the same IP address: " 24.59.156.66" Well, I think he means is that you're blindly going on the offensive with me and my band without really knowing what really went on between Monster and me. I'm sure you've heard his side of the story, whatever it may be, but if it's anything like what he has posted here in these forums I've pointed out many contradictions that he himself has made in different posts. I'm not asking you to take my side or anything, but just to realise that there's quite a bit about my fallout with Monster that you know nothing about. I'm sure you see him as a good friend and want to stand up for him, which is admirable, but really you don't know even the half of the situation he has put me through. Personally, I'm really not into dragging this fued out any further, but if he (or you) are going to distort the facts on my band's forum, I will respond. Had he just went his own way after he left this band things wouldn't have gotten as bad as they have between us. I was only repeating what he told me. However, I know someone else who also had a similar tale to tell me regarding Monster wanting to call his new band "The Nightmare" as well. Considering that P.A. told me this tidbit back in June, it seems that my former guitarist is still looking for a 'score' to settle with me. Frankly, I just find the situation ridiculous. Aside from the fact that I have realised that I can never work with him professionally again, and aside from his constant harassment, I have nothing against the guy. I wish he'd get over what ever anger he has with me over being let go from my band two years ago and just go on and make some good music again. The energy he puts into harassing me could be put to better use getting his band off the ground and doing something with his life. P.A. is friends with a lot of different people - myself included. I've known him for almost ten years myself. He's a good guy, and that is why I don't want to drag him through this situation - hence I won't name him by his real name. I'm sure he probably has nothing against you, and possibly even Monster. He just told me what he told me, because he thought I should know that Monster was trying to get a band off the ground that he wanted to call "The Nightmare", which he knew has been the name of my band for almost 5 years. I seriously doubt he wants to be involved in this petty dispute.
