Tonight I got home from a rehearsal where it was mentioned in casual conversation afterwards, "Odd that we haven't had a Monster sighting recently."
For the uninformed, Monster was a former guitarist with the Nightmare who I parted ways with about two years ago. Since then he continues to make his presense known on the forums every couple of months accusing me of everything from being a plagiarist to an ego maniac and everything in between. When he's not doing that, he usually resorts to taking his harassment to my answering machine on my home telephone.
It's been a relative calm for a few months around here with the last 'sighting' being another answering machine message back in October - that is until tonight...sort of.
Apparently a bandmate of our old green friend calling himself Oliver ToxXin has come forward to give us some insight as to why a post I made six months ago "incorrectly" accuses them of being misleading by also deciding to name their band The Nightmare. Those of you with a keen memory might recall someone posting in our old forum under this same name back in June of this year.
He rambles on a bit questioning where I got 'my sources' in a rather paranoid manner before attempting to turn the tables on the ongoing fued between my former guitarist and I, by assuming that it somehow 'must be' my fault as to why my former friend continues to harass me two years after we parted ways.
I answered his queries as briefly and politely as I could muster and resisted the temptation of going on the offensive myself. I don't know this person enough to be judgemental even if he is attempting to be antagonising towards me and the rest of the Nightmare.
What baffles me in all this mess, is how many people who aren't/weren't involved with the dissolution of my relationship with my former guitarist keep getting dragged into this. In addition to Az being dragged into the fued, now some random guy that my former guitarist has recruited for his 'new band' is now arguing with people he's never met and doesn't know, simply because of my former guitarist's unwillingness to drop a fued that is over two years old to date.
Honestly, I have no desire to enter a pissing contest with someone I don't know, nor am I trying to fuel this rather old fued any further. I stand up for what I believe in and what I know is right, but even I have my limits.
We unveiled a new logo partially to give our "old friend" one less thing to whine about, despite the fact that he neither designed, nor had total illustration rights over the former logo. I have asked both politely and through law enforcement officers for all contact to cease between him and I. Now someone who has never met me is attempting to drag out this ridiculous fued even further.
My question is this: when is enough going to be enough? It's been two years since Monster has been a part of this band. Since then I have managed to get a new lineup and we've kept ourselves gigging steadily, made good friends with newer bands, made studio preparations, and even filmed two videos for UMTV. In this time our former guitarist has not been gigging nor even recorded a single note, however the constant harassment towards me and my bandmates has been relentless.
Shaun and Ollie, it's time to move on, kids. I'll respond to your silly posts if you really want me to, but my advice is to forget about me for a while and pay more attention to your own 'band' for a change.
