Ever wonder what brand of bass strings Az uses? Curious as to what inspired a particular song written by the Nightmare? Maybe you're curious as to when the Nightmare is going to play in your hometown again?
This is the place to ask any question you like - either at a certain band member or the whole band in general.
Keep in mind that Az and myself are more apt to be prompt in answering your questions so be patient if addressing SINdy and/or Carmen - you'll get answered eventually!

which Nightmare song is your favorite to play live and which Nightmare song (studio version) is your favorite to listen to-and in regards to both, why? Tough one for me as this changes quite often. Mostly dependant on who's comprising the band at certain times, but also sometimes the mood of the audience can dictate which songs are most enjoyable live. In a general sense, with the current lineup, I'd probably have to say Off With Her Head and Another Way seem to be our strongest live these days - and to me, the most enjoyable to play live as well. With Off With Her Head, my favorite moment is the guitar breakdown before the guitar solo. Az and Carmen really drive this song, and at that moment it seems like all three of us are just firing away with all guns ablaze. As for Another Way, that brings out the most emotion in me as a vocalist - the lyrics are very personal and introspective about how I feel as a person. I think the whole band feels the emotional dynamic in this song and it comes off beautifully. As for studio versions - I'd have to say I'm decidely unhappy with most of our past efforts. I hear too many flaws that the current lineup greatly surpasses. There are lots of bits and pieces that I admire and that I am also very proud of, but either it's bad production or bad musicianship (in some of the earlier works) that spoil my full enjoyment of our recorded efforts. I do still listen to many of the old recordings and if forced to choose, I'd say my favorites would be: Save Me (acoustic version); Between - 2002 version featuring RaYzor, Monster, and Ambrosia; Twisted 2001 version featuring Dark Cloud and SINdy... Personally, I'm looking more forward to entering the studio again next month with Az and Carmen. I think we've got what it takes to make the ultimate Zadoc...and the Nightmare CD in terms of ability, producer, and sonic texture this time around.

I thought this would be a hard one. Live, I love playing Another Way because the audience gets into it, so we get into it even more. On the other hand, IF I want to go nuts and break parts of myself, the best soundtrack is Long Way From Home or *ahem* "Battery's" Web, a little song about a vampire energizer bunny... hehehehe Good Question! Next!

I loved playing "Between" and "No More Goodbyes" live. Hell, I loved playing ALL The songs live As far as recorded songs, I can't really say as even though I have heard many, even been featured on some of them and have some burned CD's, there are a lot of different versions of the same songs in there. I think I would have to concur with Zadoc on one point, "Between" as performed by Zadoc, Ambrosia, Monster and myself is a really good recording, and if I recall, my parts were done in like 3 takes. It fell together really well as at least a demo and it is a kickass song. RaYzor
