Just wanted to post a quick note explaining some of the moderation I've had to do with a few of the posts here on the forums.
Most importantly I'd like to deal with some of the 'inside jokes' on Father Carmenucci that have spilled over to the forums. We feel that such posts could possibly implicate him as being involved with criminal behavior, as well as the 'joke' to be lost to those visiting the forums who don't know Carmen or the band well enough to realise that the comments are simply in jest. While it's sort of funny to tell these harmless jokes in private, we need to realise that this is a public forum and these comments might not be realised to be jokes to others who read them.
Secondly, although there is a profanity filter on the forums, sometimes we can make certain words rather close and identifiable by substituting alpha-numeric letters with another character that looks similar. If you really feel you need to use a word that our profanity filter 'catches' try to make it a bit vague - such as f***, s**t, or motherf***er. I'd prefer not to have to censor the way we talk, but also realise that sometimes this band attracts the adoration of younger fans (sometimes as young as 7, 8, & 9!) which these words may be inappropriate for their viewing.
Whenever myself, or any of the other moderators edit any of the posts contained here, we will try to provide an explanation for why we felt it necessary to modify the posts in question. If the post is felt to have been a genuine mistake of judgement by the original poster we'll try to moderate only the parts in question and give an explanation of why we had to alter the post. However, if the post seems to be a blantant disregard for the forum rules, keep in mind that it may be removed all together - if the problem persists the poster can be banned from the usage of the forums.
I hope that everyone realises that I'm not trying to hamper the discussion in anyway, but rather to try and make the conversations comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
Thanks to everyone here for reading - everyone's been making this new forum pretty active and exciting thus far.
